In this next year we have a simulated 3 week project which last year was based on piracy.. then we have the rest of the year to a client based project, whilst on top of that write a 3000-4000 word report/dissertation thing based on anything within multimedia.
This client project part I am worried about as I do not know who to go for for it, there are competitions that you can use to do it as they set a brief, or you can ask your tutor for a brief or you can go out and find a client who will set you up with something. I am not sure if I want to ask a tutor for a brief incase I get one from a tutor who knows nothing about animation and I am worried about going out and finding a client as it will be hard to find one and then keep visiting them and communicating with them unless the company was like directly in nottingham centre (otherwise I have no way of travelling to them)
And im still deciding what to base my personal research project on (the essay thing). I am thinking something based on animation, where I can discuss the importance of different elements of making an animation/animated film/short what have you.. ie the lighting, texturing, the connection with the audience, the story....
So I am looking forward to the upcoming year but im not at the same time as it is going to be really independent working and we are hardly in uni again it seems really pointless paying the same tuition fees as someone who is in 9-5 everyday of the week. I think as I am not as good and motivated as some students I need to be in lessons for more than 4 hours a week so I feel it is worth going in to uni (when i can sit at home and work). And hopefully I will get a good tutor this year who actually knows about the pathway we chose.....
