Thinking about the interior of the cottage

After discussing my work in tutorial today I have realised that my current room design is too modern for what I first wanted. I think it became too modern because I did not collect reference images for interiors of cottages. The chimney is brick like inside cottages, but the type of brick doesn't look right and the wallpaper is completely wrong. Also the edges are too straight, I think the walls and edges need to look a bit less 'perfect' and more rugged.

I have now collected some images which show how many cottages look, with a traditional bricked fireplace with an old log burner and plain wall. I think having a plain wall will be better as having a floral design might make the scene too busy. Many of the images show that cottages have big beams in them which might make my interior look more realistic.
