3ds Max

I realised earlier that I hadn't written much about my last few weeks on the virtual environments pathway. I am slowly getting the hang of 3ds max. You have to take a lot of time with it and be patient which is why it is good having a 3 hour long seminar.. but then I get bad headaches and feel mentally drained after my seminars now because I'm concentrating so much. I decided to do some research into what 3ds max is as if I continue with this pathway next year, and in the future I'm going to need to know about it. It is a bit annoying that it can't be used on macs.. all the graphic design students get to use them and throughout my foundation course it was all that we could use in college.. and now we have to use PC.
Anywayy.. I went on the site for 3ds max and it said this "Create stunning 3D in less time with Autodesk® 3ds Max® software. This full-featured 3D modeling, animation, and rendering solution is used to produce top-selling games and award-winning film and video content. It’s a tool of choice for quickly generating realistic characters, seamless CG effects, jaw-dropping games, and top-quality film and television content. Enhanced toolsets enable you to create your 3D environment the way you want, manage complex scenes, and take advantage of improved software interoperability and pipeline-integration support." I think that seems quite impressive. From working with it at the moment I really can't see how it can be used to make films like avatar.. but hopefully I will learn this sometime.
Other films that have used 3ds max are:
It's quite interesting finding out what films use it.. and it seems weird that I'm learning how to use this software.
I am a bit fed up with my superhero lair at the moment, I can't seem to make it look how I want.. My family and people think it looks good, but compared to other peoples it just looks weird.. I dunno if that is just because I haven't coloured it properly yet so it looks a bit tacky? I also showed it to my tutor today and he didn't seem very impressed by it.. Yet Andy seems to like it whenever he looks at it. Apparently one of the other tutors kind of told my friend off because she's made hers very house-like.. but then Andy said to me the other day 'Every superhero needs a bed'. So you get mixed reactions off different tutors. It's confusing!
