Last weeks context seminar

In our seminar last week we began by researching sources from other peoples blogs.. so we looked for any links they had looked at or any designers for example. We were supposed to find 3, but me and Vyte found like 6 lol. I thought this was good to see what other people were researching in their blogs and it meant we might have found something that could help us a lot with our work.

Then we had to get into groups and think of 5 questions you could ask someone about their development, which could get more than a yes or no answer. My groups questions were..
  1. What is the most interesting thing you have discovered recently?
  2. Have you found a piece of work that you haven't liked? (Jools didn't like this one.. it doesn't really ask about development)
  3. What have you done that has challenged you?
  4. Have you thought how you could integrate your research/what you have learnt into your work/projects?
  5. How have you acted on recent feedback?
We then had to go and find someone in another group and ask them our questions. I got these answers to my questions...
  1. 3Ds Max - never seen software like this this before and I haven't seen 3D being made before.
  2. (didnt ask her q. 2 so this is really q.3) Started making a documentary using filming equipment I hadn't really used before so it challenged me.
  3. Made me see things that I didn't think were an option and gave me inspiration.
  4. Spoken to people who have commented on my blog
I then got asked questions but I think their group struggled to think of questions and so they only had one good one, so I think it helped the other person more than me.

I think these exercises helped me a lot to think about my work and research and how I can talk about things on my blog better, like talk about what has challenged me lately for example. I also found some interesting links and designers/animators that I can look at and write about on my own blog.. and so I think it may help me to find my 3 practitioners easier for my visual essay.
